Historic Madeira Luncheon and“What’s in Your Attic?” Lecture
Enjoy spectacular views of the Historic District from the distinguished Chatham Club, while you lunch with John M Sheftall, Esq., renowned attorney, historian, and expert on attic exploration, as he shares his exciting and humorous “Fabulous Attic Finds.”
The menu will include The Chatham Club Signature Low Country Crab Cake,** served over their specialty Lemon Vinaigrette Salad, and a scrumptious Flourless Chocolate Torte with Raspberries.
The meal with conclude with a taste of famed Madeira wine, the preferred wine of our Founding Fathers and enjoyed by Mr. Charles Green and Mr. Andrew Low. The Rare Wine Co. has produced an historic series of Madeira wines, recreating the flavors of past centuries. We will enjoy the Savannah Verdelho Official Reserve Madeira, and Dr. Paul Pressly, the former sommelier of the Madeira Club, will say a few words about the use of Madeira by Savannahians since the 18th century.
